The course duration is 5.5 years, including 4.5 years of academic study and a 1-year compulsory internship, designed to train qualified Ayurvedic physicians with knowledge of both classical Ayurveda and modern medical sciences.
The curriculum combines theoretical learning and clinical training, covering subjects such as Ayurvedic principles and Samhitas, Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic pharmacology), Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana (Ayurvedic pharmaceutics), Rog Nidana (pathology), Kayachikitsa (internal medicine), Panchakarma, Shalya and Shalakya Tantra, along with modern subjects like anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and community medicine.
