About Department
The Prasuti tantra focuses on women’s health and Ayurvedic obstetrics, covering prenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care as described in classical texts. Streeroga focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders of the female reproductive system (gynaecology). Together, this department aims to promote a healthy womanhood, safe motherhood, and healthy progeny. Students learn the physiology of pregnancy, delivery mechanisms, and management of common gynecological disorders with Ayurvedic principles.

VISION
To develop skilled Ayurvedic practitioners capable of providing holistic, safe, and compassionate care in women’s health and obstetrics, while promoting education, research, and the overall physical, mental, and reproductive well-being of women throughout all stages of life.
MISSION
- To teach classical and contemporary concepts of pregnancy, labour, and puerperium as described in Ayurvedic texts along with relevant modern understanding.
- To train students in the diagnosis and Ayurvedic management of gynecological disorders through theoretical knowledge and clinical exposure.
- To enhance understanding of Garbhini Paricharya, Garbhasamskara, antenatal care, and reproductive health for promoting healthy motherhood.
- To provide high-quality clinical care for women’s health issues using Ayurvedic principles and therapeutic modalities.
- To train undergraduate in Ayurvedic obstetrics and gynaecology through structured teaching, clinical postings, and hands-on learning.
- To encourage research, academic discussions, and scholarly activities that validate and advance Ayurvedic approaches in women’s healthcare.
