About Department
The Department of Kayachikitsa forms the foundation of Ayurvedic clinical education, focusing on the holistic understanding and management of systemic diseases through the principles of Dosha, Dhatu, Agni, and Srotas as described in Charaka Samhita and Ashtanga Hridaya. Students are trained in classical diagnostic methods, clinical reasoning, and rational treatment planning, with academic exposure to Rasayana, Vajikarana, and Manas Roga.
Clinical Exposure
Students receive clinical exposure to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions through OPD and IPD postings, enabling them to understand disease diagnosis, Ayurvedic management principles, and patient-centered care. The learning exposure includes:

Clinical Skill Exposure
- Students gain hands-on exposure in the campus-based Yogya Simulation Lab, where they are trained in:
- CPR
- Basic ECG recording and interpretation
- Auscultation
- Abdominal palpation
- Ryle’s tube insertion (demonstration-based)
- IV line insertion
- Basic emergency response skills
- This training enhances their clinical competence and confidence.
